LGBTQI+ Youth Group to celebrate Limerick Pride 2023 with a week which promises to be a colourful affair with music, games, and art
A celebration of the LGBTQI+ youth community, an online information service and the annual Pride Youth Party, are all part of a busy week of events as Limerick Youth Service (LYS) and GOSHH celebrate Pride Limerick 2023.
Organised by members of the LGBTQI+ Youth Group, the week promises to be a colourful affair with music, games, art and plenty of colour!
‘We are all looking forward to what promises to be a very enjoyable and action-packed week,’ said Emily Panter, LYS.
‘The young people have been very busy organising the week and we are looking forward to the celebrations, particularly the Youth Party,’ said youth worker Emily.
The LGBTQI+ Youth Group has been to the fore in supporting young people and their families who identify as LGBTQI+.
‘Although attitudes have changed there are still young people for whom ‘coming out’ can be a lonely and tough place and that is where our group helps,’ said Emily.
‘We have two groups (one for 14-17yrs and the other for 18-23yrs) who meet weekly at LYS where they meet friends and access support and information on issues such as sexuality and gender,’ said Emily.
